098. Lemaire's Pragmatic Tees, Totême's Take on the Sock Shoe, and High Sport's Sexy Little Shorts
Someone in the US Wants to Forward Me These Fisherman Pants?
EVERY BODY GETS DRESSED’s weekly curated edit of the only fashion newness worthy of your attention.
The netted and see-through slip-on shoe is back for a third summer. You’ll find them at diverse price points, from Reformation to Khaite. The pragmatic in me worries about the mesh and crochet versions faring poorly after a few weeks of pounding the dirty pavement. Totême added these woven leather flats to their Spring lineup. With a similar sock silhouette, these seem like they would be more durable. Other notable additions include this 100% silk cape knit and this striking lambskin suede panelled coat.
This week's new arrivals included two great scarf-detail tees. We’ve learned that an outfit can be elevated by adding a layer or an accessory before leaving the house. I love a pragmatic design that saves you from remembering to do that. The COS version is merino wool contrasted with a silk scarf. The Lemaire one is 100% cotton jersey with a high neck.

Dôen’s first Spring drop features the brand’s signature scalloped eyelet embroidery trims, puff sleeves, and delicate floral prints. If you want to try your hand at the sheer aesthetic, this all-over lace skirt looks great. I loved this crisp poplin dress with its scooped neck and gathered bodice. The collection also includes no-frills pieces like boatneck tees in pointelle or baby rib (my favourite neckline! Not always easy to find) and these capri pants inspired by 1960s pedal pushers.
In the same realm of vintage-inspired brands, Sea released a Spring collection featuring crochet accents and cross-stitch embroidery. My top pick is this simple and very wearable bubble skirt T-shirt dress.
Veronica Beard made a sweet butter-yellow transitional coat with a detachable embellished collar.
Apiece Apart’s Spring collection includes a shirt dress with a sarong skirt that reminds me of an Eva Chen street-style look I have had saved to my moodboard for years. This Banana Republic sleeveless version has similar vibes.

Speaking of Banana Republic, they launched their highly anticipated White Lotus collab yesterday. It’s a small capsule with more or less loud prints. Bonus points: the crêpe is 100% silk, and the poplin is 100% cotton. The coolest piece is this pair of twill fisherman pants, which I would have bought if they shipped to the UK. For designs like these with de-facto oversized proportions, having the option of a petite fit is really compelling.
Staud released a collection that would be right at home in Carrie Bradshaw’s walk-in closet. Case in point: this tube strapless dress with a pop of aqua, this cornflower blue silk minidress, and this raffia shoulder bag. I also thought this woven peplum strapless top looked a lot more expensive than it is. Finally, these nylon and suede ballet flats reminded me of the viral Monde Beryl shearling-lined shoes. A good alternative if you don’t want to invest in shearling so close to the warmer season. I don’t love them styled with athleisure, but they would look great paired with straight-leg jeans and would break the sobriety of tailored pleated pants.
Kallmeyer's field jacket in distressed topstitched leather offers an interesting departure from the ubiquitous versions flooding the market. This season also sees their Warner blazer reimagined in lambskin and liquid twill.
High Sport’s new if-you-dare ‘Boy’ shorts and this Bottega Veneta white tasselled leather midi skirt are among Moda Operandi’s exciting latest arrivals. Also, someone should grab the last piece left of this striking silk Bevza dress down to $274.
Accessories brand Manu Atelier released Spring colours, including the warm sand colour they call Cachemire Beige. It’s available in their most popular styles, including the Cambon, which comes in five sizes. The Cambon 35 fits your 13-inch MacBook.
Rue Sophie, the label that launched their inaugural Spring collection a year ago, delivers sophisticated staples with an approachable price tag. This season, they added this voluminous transitional coat silhouette to their trench lineup. With generously cut sleeves, a dramatic A-line shape, and an asymmetrical curved hem, it makes a strong case at $398. The fabric is 50% Tencel, so it will have a more fluid and elegant drape than your run-of-the-mill trench canvas. The price point makes the brand a good option for experimenting with silhouettes you've been curious about—stirrup leggings or fitted Bermuda shorts, perhaps. As with many brands occupying this price tier, Rue Sophie makes calculated material choices; this lovely pintuck top, for instance, blends linen with polyester.

I never thought I could love a denim jumpsuit, but here we are. Italian denim specialist Haikure made one with a very modern, relaxed shorts silhouette. I also recommend checking out their sans-waistband jeans and this other full-length ecru jumpsuit.
